As we all know these approaching winter nights can be quite cold and wet, so we are partnering with the city of Sacramento and other area churches to house and feed the homeless community during Winter Sanctuary.

The When:

Week 1: Jan. 28 – Feb. 1

Week 2: Feb. 24- Mar. 1

For a total of 11 nights we are going to welcome, love, house, and feed homeless guests here at First Covenant. The hours of volunteer service are from 5-9 p.m. on one of these nights and possibly a short time in the morning.

The Why:

Our great Lord and Savior Jesus was a friend to the broken and outcast. We want to be like Jesus and serve and love just as He did. This is a great opportunity to show our Savior’s love through the serving of food, the giving of a smile, and the sharing of a story. The time commitment is small. The blessing given and received is great. Will you join and partner with us?

The What:

This is an opportunity to serve and love in the name of Jesus. We will be able to feed and talk with approximately 100 homeless guests. Each night First Cov will be responsible for providing and serving dinner, as well as preparing a breakfast that will be left ready for the next morning. The cost of meals and preparation will be provided by the ministry that has committed to serving on a particular night. This is a great opportunity to serve with your growth group, ministry, or your family.
