Truth and LearningThe definition of theology simply is faith seeking understanding. Starting with the faith we have, we want to investigate it, understand it, and enjoy it more. This is not simply an academic exercise done in a classroom; it is one of the main ways we come to know, love, serve, and speak about God. You don't have to have a brilliant mind to be a theologian you just have to be someone who wants to learn to pray, to talk about God to your friends, and to live more in tune with God’s plan and purpose for your life. At Identity Middle School Ministries, we desire to create a community, that is not just fun and exciting but to achieve our ulitimate goal to be transformed into the image of Christ through the truth we learn together. Teach the Truth of our FaithTo engage students, at whatever point in their journey they may be, with the truth of Scripture, so that they are steadily increasing in their knowledge of, confidence in, and practice of the Christian faith. Build Christian CharacterTo create learning environments that stimulate personal and corporate growth in the character of Christ. Equip for Christian ServiceTo help participants discover their spiritual gifts, leading to an active engagement in addressing the needs within all spheres of our world through Christian service Community BuildingIdentity Middle School Ministries we believe that community is integral for spiritual development and exploration no matter where a student is in their journey of faith. We seek to spur our students on toward deeper community by connecting people together. Through a variety of events and activities, we hope to create opportunities which bring students together and foster relationships. Our vision for any of our gatherings is to create a sense of community that encourages students to use their individual gifts to support one another and engage in the life of the church. Celebration and WorshipWe believe Christian worship celebrates what God is doing in the world an in our lives through Jesus Christ. No matter where you are, spiritually-skeptical, curious about Christianity, or a committed follower of Jesus Christ-worship points us to what we all need, Jesus. Participating in worship is our primary calling, a vital component of our growth, an experience that changes us, and one of the best ways to discover Jesus and develop a relationship with him. We will learn many ways to worship…through music, journaling, prayer, giving, and others…The only requirement is you must be fully present! ServiceWe believe in offering a sacrificial portion of our resources, time, talents and possessions as an act of faith and gratitude in response to God's grace. We do this in our community and in the world to further God’s Kingdom as a part of the greater church… Our service projects are a ministry that seeks to spur our students on toward deeper community. Through a variety of events, we try to create opportunities which bring students and people together and engage them in the life of the church and our community. Our vision for these gatherings is to create and foster relationships that encourage students and families to use their individual gifts to support one another, to love the lost in our community, as well as share the love of God to all they encounter. |
